OASIS
The Older Adult Services & Interfaith Sharing program began in a small part of Southside Christian Church. Today they share a building with the Northeast Area Office and the NEAT's organization.
This community based program is designed to provide day health services to adults with functional impairments in a nurturing and protecting interfaith environment. The trained staff at OASIS work in conjunction with the participant's physician to provide an individualized plan of care.
A typical day at OASIS includes exercise, group time, snacks, recreation, arts, crafts, games, lunch and quiet time. Activities are conducted to maintain or improve the current level of function of each participant.
OASIS ministers to both the participant and their caregivers. With Adult day care the caregiver can work, have respite or attend to other activites outside the residence. OASIS even sponsors a support group for them.
The Foundation's fund for OASIS was established in 1995. They participated in our matching grant program and the fund balance is now over $10,000. As plans are being made to expand facilities and services, sources of funding need to be expanded also. You can help by making a gift to the endowment fund using our online donation page or by mailing it in. If you wish to volunteer at OASIS please call 918-749-6969.
